Co-Sponsored MusicMetro Louisville government supports a program called the
Community Music Partnership, jointly administered by the Metro Council and
the Louisville Federation of Musicians. Bands are provided to
eligible organizations or groups at no cost to the group, to play at public
community events such as neighborhood block parties, senior centers,
retirement communities, health fair screenings or traditional community
festivals. You may have seen our musicians and enjoyed their music at
Art in the Arbor, the Americana Festival, the Shawnee Library Derby Party and many other events. To
inquire about the possibility of having free live music at your next event, call your
Metro Councilperson's office.
Another popular program for funding public concerts is the Music Performance Fund. Participating bands agree to perform for a set scale (depending on length of performance and number of players) and the Music Performance Fund will co-fund 25% of the cost, with the requesting organization providing 75%. This program is widely used in the Louisville area for public concert series such as Jeffersonville's Warder Park Friday night concerts, the Cherokee Triangle's Sunday night concerts, Crescent Hill's annual Fourth of July celebration, and many more. The program is administered by the Louisville Federation of Musicians. Contact us for more information about this resource or visit this link. |
